Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

This morning’s session at Uluwatu was a lot of fun for our advanced surfers. The swell has eased into a more manageable size, with light offshore winds creating perfect conditions. The atmosphere in the lineup was relaxed, and the water was cool and clear. The surf was mostly in the overhead range, with occasional larger sets hinting at the incoming swell expected later today. We enjoyed the entire session on a rising tide without the tide getting too high, making the most of the morning’s favourable conditions.

Expect several days of powerful swells from today. The standout breaks in the Uluwatu area will be reserved for experts only from this afternoon through Monday.

Advanced surf guiding at Imposible

We are seeing much smaller surf this morning after yesterday’s large swell. With Uluwatu still breaking at Outside Corner and The Bombie, our advanced group paddled out at Impossibles chasing those famous long lefts. The surf was mostly in the overhead range with a few larger set waves. The Tradewind was light offshore, creating clean conditions with no noticeable current. The waves were breaking quickly, but the best ones offered extended rides down the reef.

Impossibles is one of the longest left-handers in Bali when everything comes together. With the right tide, swell, wind direction, and good wave selection, you can get some very long rides.

Advanced surf guiding at Dreamland

A new swell has come in hot with well-overhead surf pulsing across the island. At Dreamland, the ocean was calm and beautifully clean at first light, with just a touch of offshore wind. The tide was just right for the A-frame peak. The take-offs were steep, which required some paddle strength and some courage. Once up and riding, the rights offered mellow rides as the wave fizzled out into a deep water channel. While the left offered a barrel section from take-off, followed by a fast, racy wall.

We are back into a trend of morning low tides till the 28th. With plenty of swell on the forecast, places like Dreamland and Toro-Toro are looking good!

Advanced surf guiding at Padang Padang

A new swell has brought solid waves to Bali’s premier breaks. Expert surfers were out at Padang Padang Left, a challenging wave suitable only for top-tier surfers. Bali’s top surfers skillfully navigated the demanding conditions with a steady offshore tradewind from early morning. The tide was optimal for the wave to produce intense barrels, requiring precise execution. Surfers successfully pulled into some impressive tubes, the ultimate goal in surfing.

Despite its appearance, the wave at Padang Padang is fast, heavy, shallow, and competitive. A misjudged wave can quickly lead to a challenging situation.

Intermediate surf guiding on The Bukit

With plenty of swell in the water and a low tide at first light, our intermediate surfers set off to surf the rights at Bingin. The surf was in the head-high to overhead range at this protected wave, with Bingin firing barrels for expert surfers within view. The wind was blowing lightly offshore at the base of the cliffs, and the sea state was very clean. The surfers worked on setting their rail to get down the line as quickly as possible.

Bingin Right is a fun, sheltered break for intermediate surfers when the swell picks up and the tide is low. The wave breaks in a clearly defined spot quite softly and at a measured speed.

Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

Our advanced group enjoyed an incredible morning at Uluwatu. The swell had dropped to a user-friendly size, down to the head-high range with a few larger set waves. The water was exceptionally clear and warm, with the offshore trade wind blowing lighter than usual for an August morning. The perfect tide coincided with our preferred time of day to surf Uluwatu- which is just as the sun comes up over the Bukit cliffs.

The rising tide gave everyone the opportunity to surf The Racetrack and The Peak. The Racetrack offered its usual fast lines. Over at the peak, the most advanced surfers enjoyed the larger, steeper waves, with even a few surfers scoring barrels.

Advanced Surf Guiding at Kuta Reef

Today is a big wave day in Bali. The premier breaks are all working their magic with the combination of a moderate offshore wind, a good range of tide, and plenty of swell. The expert surfers put on a show at The Bombie and Outside Corner at Uluwatu, and the trials of the Rip Curl Cup are on today.

Our advanced group headed out to Kuta Reef, capitalizing on the early morning high tide and significant swell. At the outside section, waves broke hard and fast, presenting barrels for those adept at making the steep drops. Down the line, the wave offered a more manageable takeoff with several turn sections before dissipating into deeper water.

Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

Our advanced surfers had an incredible morning at Uluwatu! The swell was pumping with consistent well-overhead sets pulsing through the lineup. Bali’s best surfers were out putting on a show with incredibly committed turns and skilful barrel rides. The group waited for the tide to be just right after breakfast before paddling out to the lineup. By then, the offshore wind had picked up to a moderate pace. The surfers pushed their boundaries, testing their skills and courage under the guidance of head coach Randy.

On days like these, securing a set wave can be challenging. With the help of an experienced surf guide, you can gain valuable experience in waves of consequence.

Advanced surf guiding at Imposible

Our advanced surfers are back at Impossibles this morning chasing those incredibly long rides the wave is known for. The swell has jumped to the 1.5x overhead range with some larger sets. The wind was blowing strong offshore, which held up the waves just a little longer. With careful wave selection and a bit of luck, the surfers were able to lock into some lengthy rides.

Impossibles is a fast, racy wave that is very picturesque. There are 3 separate peaks on this wide reef, breaking up the crowds. On the right conditions, with a good size swell and offshore wind, the sections can link up for the longest rides in Bali.
