Bingin Barrels

The crew of hungry locals and small take-off spot make it tricky to snag a good one at Bingin, but if you’re up for the challenge, there’s no time like the present

The swell is pumping and with Covid restrictions having all but stopped tourism for now, you might never get a chance like this again to enjoy ‘Bali’s most make-able barrel’™ so start planning your next trip now

The recent run of solid swell continues with sets arriving today in head-high to double-overhead range and barrelling at Bingin — as you’d expect — but also down the outside reef at Impossibles too

The first international flight operated from Denpasar airport two days ago, Bali is officially reopening from the 9th July and travel to and from other Indonesian islands will be possible from the 31st July.

We hope and expect the issuing of tourist visas to recommence shortly after and possibly even the same day.

We’re still not posting the surf report on our typical daily schedule but check back again soon for more updates or follow us on Facebook for more Bali surf news and travel information

Bali, Surf Lessons, Bingin Right, Surf Report

Sometimes conditions can be quite unpredictable and Plan B is a must have option. Too big waves prevented our intermediate group from surfing lessons at Dreamland this morning so our Plan B which was Bingin Right beach has been activated. Swell size is bigger than yesterday and light offshore wind is here. Waves are shoulder high to head high or overhead high on sets.

Our Beginners group had surf lessons at Padang Padang beach this morning. We surfed inside section of the spot where the waves are smaller waist high to chest high.

Surf lessons, Bali, Bingin Right, Surf report

Both of our intermediate group and advanced groups headed to Bingin Right in the early morning. Swell is bigger than yesterday and conditions a bit difficult today, cloudy with fresh offshore but still quite good for super fun surfing. Waves are shoulder high to head high but on some sets reached overhead high size.

Our beginners sheltered today from the big swell at Jimbaran beach where their surf lesson took place. Perfect place for novice surfers, nice and quiet in the early morning. A little bit windy as well but conditions are excellent for surf lessons. Waves are waist high to chest high. Fun and enjoyable surf session apart from the big waves is what our beginners need.

Surf Lessons, Bali, Surf report, Bingin Right

Sometimes conditions can be quite unpredictable and Plan B is a must have option. Too big waves prevented our beginners group from surfing lessons at Dreamland this morning so our Plan B which was Jimbaran beach has been activated. Conditions at Jimbaran are excellent for novice surfers with waves knee high to waist high.

Our Intemediate group had surf lessons at Bingin Right this morning (see photos). Swell size a bit bigger than yesterday and fresh offshore wind is here. Waves are chest high to shoulder high.

Advanced group in the meantime surfed shoulder high to head high waves or overhead high waves on sets at Dreamland at dawn. Intense and very enjoyable surf session.
