Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

  • The wind was cross offshore today at Uluwatu and was less than perfect conditions. There was hardly anyone out this morning, around 10 people spread over a massive area between the peak and racetrack. There were some barrels to be had on the peak, and some very long rides on the racetrack.

Advanced surf guiding at Bingin

Just 2 guys out at bingin when we arrived this morning. Wind was side shore but wave quality was still good. Bingin works on any wind but is of course best when offshore. Unseasonable weather today with some rain, but still fun waves.

Advanced surf guiding at Padang Padang

Today is one of the biggest days of the year so far. We went to Bingin but was out of control with no one out. Padang Padang was the spot today, otherwise known as the Balinese pipeline. Bigger the swell gets, the better the wave quality. As you can see from the photos, absolutely firing today, and lots of barrels to be had.

Advanced surf guiding at Dreamland

A large new swell was forecast for today, so we decided to do dawn patrol Dreamland. Only 2 of us out in the water on the A frame early, with some solid double overhead sets. The left was mostly breaking too fast, but there were some fun right handers, and if you picked the right one, it would go all the way to the beach. The mini lockdown seems to be over and seems all surf breaks are now open again. This is good news for bukit surfers, as the Canggu crowd seem to have gone back to Canggu. Late morning a few more people paddled out but was very quiet at Dreamland. Swell is forecast to be massive this afternoon, and big all week

Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

Perfect size at Uluwatu this morning for advanced surfers, the waves are starting to be bigger than yesterday and the currents are a bit stronger. This morning at an almost perfect Racetrack. As the tide fills the crest, it starts to work, and the waves that form push it double overhead. Offshore winds are light and sunny again, which is what we like.
