Intermediate surf guiding at Padang Padang

This morning we went to Toro Toro before sunrise and scored epic waves. April is the best month for Toro Toro due to light winds all day every day.

After breakfast we went to ever consistent Padang Padang. It was cloudy which meant that the wind was light and variable instead of offshore which the sunshine will deliver. It was still very good fun with waves breaking mellowly both left and right. 2 fun surf sessions today, and every day, is the pleasure of a surfing holiday in Bali.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Uluwatu was the best choice today due to the small swell and high tide. Glassy conditions and shoulder-high sets delivered fun waves for everyone. Yes, there was a crowd, but with the many peaks, people spread out and you can find a spot in the line-up.

Our professional guides know where it’s best to wait for the waves. Local knowledge is key to surfing Uluwatu successfully. This wave has everything to offer. Long clean rides as well as fast-breaking barrels. Pick the right waves according to your surfing skills and you will have a great time surfing one of the best spots on the planet.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Another beautiful sunny day here in paradise island. The swell has dropped in size, but very clean conditions today at Bali’s premier surf spot. We love Uluwatu due to the quality and length of the ride. More and more people are returning to Bali, but it is still relatively quiet and the long reef at Uluwatu is excellent for spreading out the crowds.

Today was perfect for intermediate surfers as the waves were head high and not too powerful. Uluwatu can be dangerous at low tide so we always surf it between mid and high tide, when there is enough water on the reef for comfort and safety.

Balangan was a great choice today, shoulder to head-high sets came through very consistently and the higher tide made the waves very “user-friendly” to ride. Intermediate surf guiding at Balangan

Balangan was a blast this morning! Clean head high sets were consistently coming in and everyone was catching waves out there. This can be a tricky wave to read, many sections make it difficult to continue the ride, but when you do, you can have one of the longest rides of your life.

The scenery is spectacular and the white sand beach invites you to have a cold drink after the surf session. It’s also perfect to relax in one of the many warungs or enjoy the sun and crystal clear water. A surf spot for all levels, depending on wave size and tides. Great for beginners with small waves and high tides. Today it was perfect for the intermediate and advanced surfers.

Intermediate surf guiding at Balangan

Today we cruised down to cruisy Balangan. Perfect picture postcard, long white sand beach, with waves to match. It’s a very long reef with a few sections to spread out the crowds. On bigger days it’s possible to get a ride all the way from the point to way past the warungs. Today was a day for Intermediates and longboarders with cruisy waves. Balangan does not have a strong current and is always smaller that Uluwatu, but never ever flat.

Intermediate surf guiding at Balangan

Balangan is one of the most beautiful beaches in Bali. But not only the beach, but also the waves attract many people from all over the world. The water is crystal clear and the waves can be some of the longest you have ever ridden in your life. A goofy footer’s dream!

The paddle out can be a little tricky but with professional guidance, you can be sure to make it out safe. On the wave, the challenge is to generate speed to make it to the open face of the wave. Once there you can enjoy the ride and if you’re lucky, the wave will keep going much longer than expected. Balangan is great to hang around for the day. Surf, relax with an ice-cold coconut on the beach, and surf again.

Intermediate surf guiding at Padang Padang

Getting the fundamental surf techniques right is crucial if you want to surf as best as possible. Often, the basics, like bottom and top turn are overlooked and not taken seriously enough. Getting barreled and doing airs is a goal many surfers have, but first, you should be focusing on the basics.

A good quality bottom turn will set you up for the whole wave and therefore it is important to get it right. Even though this wave might look too “easy” or not “thrilling” enough to some surfers, it is perfect to practice exactly that. Baby Padang gives plenty of opportunities to do bottom, top turns and cutbacks. Master the basics and your surfing skills will be on another level more quickly than you think.
