Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

Our beginner surfers had a wonderful morning at the perfect surf break for developing surfers. The waves were shoulder-high, the wind was calm, and the water was especially clear. It is mornings like these which keep surfers coming back for more!

The surfers worked on popping up on time and in the correct position. Knowing when to pop up is a skill that must be learned through experience. You must recognize the moment when the surfboard begins to plane over the surface of the water, which will come with repetition. If you stand up too late, you will have already ridden to the bottom of the wave and you will have no speed or balance. If you stand up too soon, the wave will pass you by. See you out there!

Intermediate surf guiding at Dreamland

The swell has backed off just enough for our intermediate surfers to paddle out at the low tide A-frame at Dreamland. There were some plus-sized sets coming through, however, the waves were mostly in the overhead-range. The Tradewind picked up early this morning, Which is straight offshore at Dreamland. The surfers all paddled into waves which were larger than they were used to, motivated by the endless encouragement of the local surf instructors. Despite testing their limits, the surfers finished the challenging session with a feeling of satisfaction.

Surf lessons are a great way to overcome challenges with your surfing. If you are nervous in bigger waves or just can’t get your turns right, the help of a knowledgeable instructor watching over you will help get you to the next level.

Intermediate surf guiding at Dreamland

The ocean is full of life this morning! The surf has picked up since yesterday as we are seeing the first waves of the new swell. Our surfers were back at Dreamland bright and early to catch the low tide. The increase in swell brought a new challenge to some of the intermediate surfers, who have been surfing the break early for the last couple of days. The waves were in the overhead range for most of the session, with a few larger set waves coming occasionally. The wind was perfectly light offshore, and the ocean was smooth and glassy.

We have an XL-sized swell arriving today. Tomorrow will see double-overhead + sized waves in what is one of the largest swells of the season. Stay safe and enjoy the ride!

Intermediate surf guiding at Dreamland

Dreamy surf conditions at Dreamland Beach this morning! The surf was what people come to Bali looking for -Long lines, tropical temperatures, and a beautiful natural environment! Our intermediate surfers scored early with only a few people on the A-frame peak at Dreamland. Our Advanced surfers also reported that Uluwatu was 5-stars with overhead + sets lining up across the reef. The swell picked up considerably overnight with waves breaking in the overhead range. The wind was perfectly light offshore, and the full moon was particularly beautiful.

We are entering a period of early morning low tides, which will last for the next week. With plenty of swell on the forecast and morning low tides, Dreamland will be an excellent call for intermediate surfers. See you out there!

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

Great beginner surfing conditions at Padang Padang! We are still waiting on the new, long-period swell to arrive, but there were plenty of fun waves for all. The waves were in the shoulder-high range for most of the session, with a few infrequent larger set waves for those sitting farthest outside. The Tradewind was blowing perfectly light offshore, which is expected during the dry season. The surfers worked on popping up with their feet in the correct position, which is essential for a successful ride.

Tomorrow is looking like another fun day of surfing! As always this time of year, you can expect head-high waves, offshore wind, and beautiful weather. One thing that makes surfing in the Uluwatu area so special is the consistency of excellent surf. See you out there!

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

Our beginner surfers had a lovely morning at the perfect wave for surfers just learning to glide across a breaking ocean wave. Padang Padang was breaking in clean lines in both left and right directions. The Tradewind was light offshore at the start of the session, and increased in strength as the sun rose higher in the sky. The beginner surfers enjoyed wave heights in the waist-to-shoulder high range, which is a great size for those just finding their bearings.

We are sitting through an unseasonal gap in swells until the next swell arrives on Thursday, August 31st. There are still plenty of waves to go around for beginner and intermediate surfers, as Uluwatu never really goes flat like the majority of surf destinations around the world do.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Small wave fun at Uluwatu this morning! Our intermediate surfers were up bright and early to catch the high-tide running waves at The Racetrack. Uluwatu always produces at least a few head-high waves; however most of the sets were in the shoulder-high range, which is a great size for intermediate surfing. The Tradewind had kicked into gear early, and the temperature was about as cool as it gets (A not too cold 26°C water/25°C air temperature). The intermediate surfers enjoyed their opportunity to surf the long, running lefts at such an iconic break in improver-friendly conditions.

Uluwatu has many faces; from the Bombie and Outside Corner on XXL days to small days like today. The versatility of this wave is a unique quality which makes Uluwatu the world’s best surfing destination.

Advanced surf guiding at Dreamland

Pumping surf this morning across the Bukit! Uuwatu is seeing wave heights up to triple-overhead with clean, almost windless conditions early. Impossibles was serving up endless double-overhead waves but just needed a touch of offshore wind and a bit more tide to really turn on. With the healthy swell and the morning low tide, our advanced and intermediate surfers paddled out at Dreamland to test their skills in waves up to double-overhead high waves. A few skilful surfers were able to tuck into some barrels while the rest of the surfers snagged some larger walls.

While coming in at a good size, the swell is not large enough for the Rip Curl Cup at Padang Padang to run. Grab a seat cliffside at Uluwatu and enjoy the show!

Intermediate surf guiding at Dreamland

Our intermediate surfers rose early to catch the sunrise and some waves at the surf camp’s Favorite low-tide A-Frame at Dreamland. The sets were slow coming as we waited for the new swell to fill in. Despite the wait, the surfers all managed to get a few shoulder-high waves, with the most patient of surfers being rewarded with overhead, long rides. The trade wind was making itself known early, which is expected given we are in the windiest month of the year. Overall it was a cruisy morning with friendly waves in a stunningly beautiful location.

A big swell will be filling in through the day today. Tomorrow will see double-overhead high waves, and we may get to watch brave surfers compete for the best barrel ride at the Rip Curl Cup in Padang Padang. See you out there!
