Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Another excellent morning in surfing paradise! A fresh swell has brought pumping surf to Bali’s reefs and beaches. With light and variable winds, surfers spread out all across the island. Uluwatu was the highlight today, offering consistent head-high sets with a light offshore wind and long, clean lines. Our intermediate surfers found smaller in-between waves, while the advanced surfers chased the overhead sets.

We are approaching that time of year when we begin to shift the breaks we surf. Soon, we will swap Uluwatu with Chicken Wings and Geger Left, and Padang Padang with Blackstone. As always in Bali, it is forever offshore somewhere.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

Our beginner surfers enjoyed excellent surfing conditions at Baby Padang this morning! The waves were in the shoulder-high range, the wind was blowing offshore, the water was the perfect temperature, and the tide was in a good range. The surfers worked on identifying the feeling of the surfboard beginning to plane on the wave, which is the signal to initiate your pop-up.

Knowing when to pop-up on the surfboard is a key skill every surfer must learn. If you stand up too early, the wave will pass underneath you, and if you stand up too late, you will miss the opportunity to control the board from the top of the wave.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Fun waves this morning! Our intermediate surfers paddled out to the Race Track at Uluwatu, famous for its long lines and consistent waves. The swell has continued to drop in size and consistency since yesterday. The biggest set waves were in the head-high range, with the rest being waist to shoulder-high. The session began with a light offshore wind, before shifting to coming from the south.

We are in the perfect time of year for beginner and intermediate surfing in Bali. The swells drop to an easier size for improving on the basics. The winds are light and variable, allowing us to surf at all of our favourite breaks.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

Great conditions for surfing in Bali this morning! Our beginner surfers made steady progress and had a fantastic time. The waist-high waves were ideal for developing surfers who were working on finding their balance and foot placement and building their confidence. The tide was just right, the wind was blowing lightly offshore, and the waves were shaping up nicely. The lefts provided longer rides after reforming, while the rights offered a shorter but easier ride.

These conditions are perfect for nailing the basics, especially the functional stance—a key skill in surfing. Padang Padang’s gentle, consistent waves and easy access through the channel make it an ideal spot for new surfers to learn and improve.

Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

Uluwatu served up fun waves this morning! Early risers enjoyed near-empty lineups, with our crew catching waves at first light. Despite the fading swell, plenty of waves rolled through, including a few head-high sets. Conditions were clean, and a light offshore breeze held up the wave faces just a little longer, allowing for two or three turns before reaching a heavy end section that most surfers were advised to steer clear of.

Surf is expected to be smaller on Monday and Tuesday, but starting Wednesday, a solid swell is forecasted to bring consistent waves for the week ahead.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Airport Rights

A fresh swell has filled Bali’s coastlines, delivering plenty of waves for everyone. With light, variable winds, surfers spread out across the island. Our crew headed to Airport Rights bright and early, taking advantage of glassy, shoulder-high waves in the morning. The conditions were very clean early, with a northwest breeze picking up as the session progressed. The rights held a nice shape, providing multiple sections for doing your best turns.

At this size, Airport Rights offers a fun and friendly wave, and the positive energy in the lineup was evident. However, when the surf gets big, this place gets alot more serious.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Toro-Toro

The crew had a wonderful time at Toro-Toro today! The swell has been gradually decreasing over the past few days, but there were still plenty of quality waves on offer. Most waves were shoulder-high, with some larger sets occasionally rolling through the lineup. Although the wind picked up from the south as the session went on, the wave faces stayed clean enough for enjoyable rides. The rights offered easy, mellow rides that often ran on for longer than you’d expect.

Toro-Toro is the surf camp’s favourite wave!  It is where intermediates can surf their perfect wave as it offers an easy take-off, breaks at a moderate pace, and can be very long.

Intermediate surf guiding at The Bukit

It was really fun surfing this morning for our beginner group! Shifting winds brought some texture to the lineup, but the rights were lining up nicely! Thanks to a pulsing swell, the surfers were able to choose their preferred size of wave to take off on. From overhead waves for the most enthusiastic of the crew, down to waist-high for the surfers just looking for a mellow ride. The waves moved at a great pace for the surfers just learning to engage their rail and get moving down the line.

The tradewind has broken down, giving way to light and variable winds. This is the time of year for surfing all over the island.

Intermediate surf guiding at Dreamland

Fun waves at Dreamland this morning! A fresh new swell had arrived, delivering clean overhead lefts and rights. We had a great tide for the session, and the wind was blowing steadily offshore. The intermediates got some great waves at the A-frame, while the beginners stuck to the outside left. At the A-frame, the slower, softer rights were great for the surfers working on popping up quicker and with more control of the surfboard. The surfers with a bit more skill and experience enjoyed the faster lefts.

The waves at Dreamland are a great next step after a surfer feels confident at Padang Padang. There are several fun options which keep things to a user-friendly level.
