Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

A new, powerful swell has arrived, lighting up the breaks on Bali’s coastlines. At Padang Padang, our beginner surfers enjoyed a very fun morning learning to surf at Bali’s best beginner wave! The waves were mostly about shoulder high, with a few larger set waves breaking farther outside. The wind was blowing lightly offshore, and the conditions were clean and fun. The rights were particularily good today, beaking at just the right pace for a surfer to learn to ride the waves with balance and control.

Later this afternoon, the conditions will be perfect for the famous left-hand barrels at Padang Padang. Head down the beach, grab a cocunut, and enjoy the show!

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

Fun waves this morning at Padang Padang! The swell has dropped to a very friendly size, with most of the waves in the shoulder-high range. The tradewind was blowing strongly, however, the offshore direction of the wind held up the waves for longer before breaking. Days like today are exactly what a new surfer needs to develop their surfing.

The surfers worked on getting into the functional stance directly from the pop-up, which is a key step towards progressing beyond a beginner level. Once you have developed the ability to ride the wave in the functional stance from the pop-up, you unlock a new level of control and confidence. See you out there!

Advanced surf guiding at Imposible

Our advanced surfers are back at Impossibles this morning chasing those incredibly long rides the wave is known for. The swell has jumped to the 1.5x overhead range with some larger sets. The wind was blowing strong offshore, which held up the waves just a little longer. With careful wave selection and a bit of luck, the surfers were able to lock into some lengthy rides.

Impossibles is a fast, racy wave that is very picturesque. There are 3 separate peaks on this wide reef, breaking up the crowds. On the right conditions, with a good size swell and offshore wind, the sections can link up for the longest rides in Bali.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

This morning, our beginner surfers rose to some inclement weather, but a bit of rain did not hold them back from having a great session. At Padang Padang, the waves were in the shoulder-high range with a few bigger set waves. The wind was blowing stronger than it normally does offshore. The lefts were particularly good this morning, providing a fast wall which reformed nicely into extended rides. The rights were still offering fun, easy rides. But, today was a day to go left.

The rain added a refreshing touch to the vibrant island, enhancing the lush greenery around the beach. Despite the weather, the energy was high, and everyone was enjoying the surf.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

Our beginner surfers enjoyed a truly stunning morning out in the lineup! The waves were just the right size, the wind was blowing offshore, and the water was an inviting temperature. The surf was mostly in the shoulder-high range, with plenty of waves breaking both left and right. The rights offered a slow-moving, tapered wall to work with. The lefts required more speed to get down the line, yet the waves reformed nicely into extended rides.

The surfers focused on positioning their feet over the centerline of the surfboard, a critical element of the functional surfing stance. Once you are able to get your feet centred, your balance and control will improve dramatically.

Intermediate surf guiding at Imposible

The swell has picked up overnight so our advanced surfers set off to surf the scenic waves at Impossibles. The surf was in the 1.5 times overhead range on the biggest of sets, with an offshore wind and a very smooth ocean. The waves with the best shape lined up for long rides, however getting these rides requires careful wave selection and the ability to move down the line quickly.

Boasting a panoramic view of the Bukit’s surf zone, the lineup at Impossibles is an incredible place to be. When big enough to break properly, you can see the sets of waves breaking at Outside Corner, Padang Padang Left, and all the way down to Dreamland and the outside of Balangan.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Excellent surf at Uluwatu this morning. The swell is picking up and the conditions were exactly what advanced surfers come here for. The tide was in a great range, the wind was offshore, and the conditions very clean. The most skillfull of the surfers were able to clock in some tube time at either of the two barrelling sections at The Racetrack. The rest of our group enjoyed long, fast rides down the reef. There were barrel sections, turn sections, overhead set waves, and smaller waves in between- something for every surfer keen on getting some excellent waves and improving their skills.

The surf will pick up in size as the day progresses. Get out there!

Beginner Surf Lessons at Balangan

Today is a small wave day in Bali, but the session at Balangan was still plenty of fun! With warm water and beautiful scenery, going surfing is always worth the effort. This morning, the weather was mixed with cloud cover and shifting winds, yet the waves remained clean and organized. Our surfers hit the lineup as soon as there was enough tide over the reef. The waist-to-shoulder high surf broke in well-formed, tapered lines and at a good pace for surfers to find their balance and ride down the line.

There is always a wave somewhere on the Bukit Peninsula. When the surf drops in size, the more exposed breaks will still have fun waves.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Another day in Paradise at the world’s most consistent wave! We had much smaller surf this morning than the previous few days. The weather was mixed, but the surf conditions remained clean. The biggest set waves were in the head-high range, with the rest of the waves being waist to shoulder high. Despite the smaller size, the reef served up some excellent, long rides- great for intermediate level surfers still finding their balance on the faster waves. The surfers all got some great waves, with big smiles to show for it.

The Indian Ocean has been very active this season, and we certainly do not mind a small wave day here or there.
