Serangan has deep water offshore and picks up the most swell on the east coast due to the favourable bathymetry. Never flat and handles the nasty southwest winds quite well, which are cross offshore here. On a small swell, this is a great wave for intermediate surfers to improve their skills. Due to its proximity to Kuta, it is always crowded and is the go-to spot for the Canggu crowd looking for fun waves in the wet season. Road access is blocked so you must take a boat from Sanur or Banoa to surf the wave. There is always a wave here when everywhere else is either flat or blown out. You can be lucky in the dry season and score it to yourself but hush, keep that a secret.
