Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

Riding your first green waves is something special! The feeling of surfing along the waves will never be forgotten. Some say it’s like being on a cloud, so smooth and soft that it almost feels like flying. Hard to imagine if you never tried surfing before, but easy to find out what it’s really like.

With the right guidance, equipment and surf conditions you can experience this feeling first-hand in a safe and fun environment. Baby Padang is perfect for this because of its user-friendly waves. Paddling can be hard work in the beginning, but it is totally worth it once you stand up on the surfboard and ride the waves as long as you can.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Geger Left, Bali

The new swell arrived today and finally brought us bigger waves again. With almost no wind at all, the south and east sides of the Bukit were favoured by most of the surfers, leaving Nusa Dua uncrowded. We took the opportunity of a nearly empty line-up to choose the best waves of the sets, so far had the best session of this week.

The big channel makes it easy to get out to the line-up. If it is like today, with almost nobody else there, you can catch as many waves as you can paddle for. A high wave count means more practice, the more practice you get the faster you will improve your surfing skills.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Greenball

Sunny weather, blue sky and crystal clear water is great recipe for happiness. Add a beautiful beach and a consistent reef break to it, and you are set for a perfect start to the day. Green Bowl is one of those surf spots which gets plenty of swell and has waves almost every day.

A fun left breaking wave is peeling over the reef on a lower tide, while on a mid-tide, the right breaking wave on the other side of the channel comes to life. This spot offers a user-friendly playground when the waves are small. It is not uncommon though to be surprised by bigger sets. Those can be double in wave size due to the exposed southern location of the surf spot. Ideal for those who like to challenge themselves from time to time.

A big part of surfing is to explore new surf spots and find opportunities to score the best wave of your life. Every day is different and you never know exactly how the session will turn out. But with the right knowledge and expertise of professional surf guides, you can be sure to find the best conditions for your surfing level.

Nusa Dua was great today due to the offshore wind conditions and clean shoulder high waves. It is the perfect location to start surfing the more challenging reef breaks of Bali. Consistently breaking sets and a small crowd made the wave choice easy, and everyone got their wave of the day.

The secret to happiness might be different for some people, but for us, it is most certainly the good waves of Bali. No matter if you are a beginner or advanced surfer, everyone can find the perfect wave for their surfing level. Today, Balangan was the right choice to go and practice catching green waves and start doing the first turns.

Tomorrow, a new swell from the south will bring bigger waves again, and with all the practice done the last few days, it is time to put the new surfing skills to the test. Challenge yourself from time to time, and you will be amazed at what you can achieve, in and out of the water.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

There is little doubt that this wave is one of the best learning grounds to improve your surfing level. A gently breaking peak, like this one, is perfect for practising your first turns on a green wave. Even though it was a bit choppy due to the stormy weather last night, the incoming waves were enjoyable all the way to the beach.

Learning how to surf is not only about learning the right technique, but also getting to know the ocean, its waves and even yourself. In the first session in the line-up, catching green waves will show you how fit you are and how far you can push your limits, in a safe and fun way.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Pandawa

The new year welcomed us with offshore winds and shoulder high set waves at one of our favourite surf breaks on the Bukit. A not too big and friendly crowd made this session very enjoyable. Among the local rippers were some of Indonesia’s best surfers. Just seeing these talents fly through the air and doing massive turns on such waves, is just incredible.

Not only did the Pros have fun, but many other surfers, experts and intermediates were having lots of waves to practise their surfing skills. On this kind of wave, you need to be able to generate lots of speed to make it around the section and onto the clean face of the wave. Once there, enjoy the ride!

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

Catching your first green wave is an experience you will never forget. The moment you stand up on the board and drop down the clean face of the wave, you just focus on the here and now. The feeling you get back up on your board after the longest ride of your life is even better.

A big south swell is expected to arrive today and although most of the surf spots in the Bukit will be quite big, this one right here still offers the perfect learning conditions due to its sheltered location.
Bali has many great surf spots for beginners where you can have your first experiences like this, but here at Baby Padang, it is one of the best if not the best!

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

With a slightly bigger swell and no wind at all, the waves were perfectly clean this morning at Baby Padang. This wave is an excellent playground for beginner and intermediate surfers who want to improve their surfing skills. Not only can you catch your first “green” or unbroken wave here, but also enjoy the nature and scenery around the cove.

Although this wave is mostly occupied by beginner and intermediate surfers, on bigger days you should not underestimate the power of the currents. A deep channel helps you to get out to the line-up fast, but also can make you paddle a lot more than usual.
