Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

The new swell has finally arrived and the spots around Uluwatu are on fire! Padang-Padang was a little bit more challenging than usual, but everyone had great waves. There was a bit of a crowd since most other spots were too big for the intermediate surfers, but with patience and the right guiding, it was no problem to catch good waves.

The forecast looks promising for the upcoming days, and we are excited to surf some bigger waves again. On the west and east coast, there are many more surf spots that start working when bigger swells arrive. If it is too big in the south of Bali, the east coast provides plenty of opportunities to surf uncrowded waves with your friends!

What a fun morning this was surfing at our home spot Padang-Padang! The swell was picking up a bit and the waves outside were shoulder to head-high, breaking perfectly left and right. Ideal for our intermediate and more advanced surfers. Our improving guests had a great time catching some of the smaller waves inside.

This surf spot is suitable for all levels and ages. Especially for kids and families. It is a great spot to surf and spend time in the water together. If you are lucky, you can have a friendly encounter with one of the “Dugongs” out there. These are very gentle and cute-looking sea creatures, despite their massive size. Keep your eyes open while you are looking for the incoming sets, there is more to see than just the waves.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

The waves were great this morning at our home spot Padang-Padang! Glassy conditions and perfectly shaped right-handers made everyone happy. It is no wonder why most people surf in the morning. The feeling you have when you surf on the smooth face of the wave is indescribable. You could compare it to snowboarding in powder, but more fun and exciting.

It is also the perfect surf spot to start learning how to surf and to improve your surfing level. From first-timers to advanced surfers, depending on the swell size, there are waves for everyone. It is important to know though, that the “real” Padang-Padang only comes to life when the waves are firing. On big swells and low tide, you can see the famous Balinese “pipeline” breaking behind the rock.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Uluwatu

The swell got smaller today and we decided to visit Uluwatu. The mid-tide in the morning was perfect for the smaller waves and long, clean left-handers were peeling over the reef. It takes a while to get used to the current and to find your landmark when you surf there for the first time. With the right guidance, you can be sure that you will be waiting in the right spot even though you are not yet familiar with the surf break.

Choosing the right peak and having a landmark is crucial for surfing in Uluwatu. There are multiple peaks on days with smaller waves and the current can take you out of position very quickly. A professional surf guide will help you to understand the mechanics of the break and how to choose the right spot in the line-up. Once you surfed the first wave in Uluwatu, it is safe to say that you surfed one of the best surf spots on the planet.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Dreamland

There is a reason why this spot is called Dreamland. Its white sand and blue, crystal clear water is one reason, the other is the fun waves breaking not far from the shore. A surfers paradise for everyone who doesn’t like to paddle out too far but still wants to get quality waves. Especially for intermediate surfers, this break ticks all the boxes.

With its three different peaks, there is enough wave choice for all levels. Intermediate surfers will favor the smaller days on a lower tide, while advanced surfers want to come here when the waves are bigger. Eastern winds are best and the offshore conditions will shape the main peak into a perfect A-Frame. A great wave to step up and improve your surfing skills.
