Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

We were back at Uluwatu this morning where there were some great waves for the advanced surfers

After a week of changeable weather the sunshine is back for what was a beautiful morning of surfing as head high and above waves were breaking up and down the reef

The current swell likely peaked this morning and it will continue to fade into the weekend while providing plenty of waves for all abilities at breaks in the local area

Advanced Surf Guiding at Impossibles, Bali

With a large swell hitting Bali at the moment, Impossibles has rumbled into life — breaking at a size where the infamously fast sections from which it derives its name become a little more makeable

Waves were breaking today between head high and a foot or two overhead with long racy green walls rewarding the advanced surfers who’d paddled out

The current swell is expected to peak this afternoon before settling down to more intermediate-friendly size over the weekend and into next week

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

It was a rainy start to the day with not enough water on the Uluwatu reef for a dawn surf, so everybody had to wait patiently while the tide filled in

The new swell was definitely showing with waves significantly larger than yesterday and set waves breaking a foot or two overhead

Although the conditions were a bit bumpy — caused by the light variable winds — the fact that the lineup was almost empty made up for it as there were loads of waves up for grabs

We expect wave size to increase in to the middle of next week as this new swell builds so there will be waves all across the Bukit for every ability level

Learners and Longboards at Uluwatu, Bali

After an early surf check at Greenbowl this morning where the wind was causing the conditions to be a little too bumpy, we returned to Uluwatu where there were two things you don’t see there every day: learners and longboarders.

With it being the final day of this swell, Uluwatu was about as small as it gets with waves breaking between knee and waist high

Conditions were clean with light and variable winds and, although there were reasonably long waits between the sets, the line up was nice and quiet

We’re expecting the new swell to arrive overnight so we await with anticipation tomorrow’s increase in wave height

We’re delighted that certain visas are now being issued by the Indonesian government which must be applied for in advance. Intermediate Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

Our intermediate surfing group returned to Uluwatu this morning for the day’s first surf where wave height was smaller than the previous day.

It was the perfect morning for building confidence in what can be an intimidating surf spot as waves were breaking without as much power as normal, between waist and shoulder high.

We’re expecting the swell height to fade further in to tomorrow so it might even be possible for the beginners to give world-famous Uluwatu a try for themselves.

We’re delighted that certain visas are now being issued by the Indonesian government which must be applied for in advance. We’ll be ramping up operations for our soft re-opening on 1st November, so get in contact now for more information on how you can join us for an exclusive surfing experience

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

We returned to Uluwatu this morning where the surf was breaking at a super fun size for intermediate and advanced surfers — between waist and head high.

The cloudy and changeable weather meant that wind was variable but light so conditions were clean well into the afternoon with waves breaking up and down the length of the reef.

We’re delighted that certain visas are now being issued by the Indonesian government which must be applied for in advance. We’ll be ramping up operations for our soft re-opening on 1st November, so get in contact now for more information on how you can join us for an exclusive surfing experience

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Bingin, Bali

With a blustery start to the day we sought the shelter of Bingin’s cliffs this morning for the first surf session of the day

As the swell has increased yesterday waves were breaking between shoulder and head-high with plenty of open faces and barrels on offer, as you’d expect from the Bingin barrel machine

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

Wet season arrived very abruptly last night on the Bukit with torrential rain lasting until the late morning which made the dawn session less than ideal

We headed back to Uluwatu later in the morning once the clouds had started to clear where the winds were light. Waves were breaking between waist and head-high along the different sections of reef, providing great conditions for a range of ability levels and plenty of long rides to go around.
