Intermediate Surf Lessons at Toro Toro ★★★★★

The swell is still running solid across Bali, and Toro-Toro once again proved its worth. Clean, smooth faces and long lines greeted the crew after the jukung ride out, with plenty of open wall for building speed and working on turns. Even with a big swell in the water, Toro offers a great opportunity to get some really fun rides and make real progress.

The seasons are starting to change here in Bali, and you can feel it in the shifting wind patterns and the temperature. Toro-Toro’s sheltered position inside Jimbaran Bay keeps it a dependable call through the transition.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Toro Toro ★★★★★

A soft haze hung over Jimbaran Bay this morning, but it didn’t take anything away from the waves. Toro-Toro was running long, clean lines with smooth faces, giving the crew open walls for cutbacks and turns. For anyone working on speed, it was a great setup: pop up, get moving down the line early, and use the face to keep the board running. Those who made the first section on the rights were rewarded with a long ride down the reef.

Days like this are why we keep coming back to Toro-Toro. The takeoff is forgiving, the deep channel keeps the paddle back easy, and the long walls give intermediates time to practise the same turn more than once on a single wave. Grey skies or not, it was a fun, productive session for everyone in the water.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Toro Toro ★★★★★

A long-period swell is running through Bali today, with 18-second energy pushing solid surf onto the exposed reefs, so we headed inside Jimbaran Bay to Toro-Toro. The bay took most of the size and power out of it, leaving well-shaped lefts and rights with plenty of room to work. The rights ran long and forgiving, with slower sections that suited drawn-out cutbacks, while the lefts stood up steeper and faster, offering critical sections for turns and the odd chance to pull in.

When a swell like this lights up Uluwatu and Airport Right, those reefs quickly move beyond what most intermediates want to be surfing. Toro-Toro’s position inside the bay takes the edge off that energy, which is why it holds up as a reliable call across a wide range of swell sizes, and why it remains the camp’s favourite wave.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Toro Toro ★★★★★

A gap between swells and a break in the trade winds lined things up nicely at Toro-Toro this morning. With the size and push backed off, the reef settled into exactly the kind of wave it’s known for — easy, playful lefts and rights peeling off in both directions, with long, open walls to work with. The crew made the most of it, picking off wave after wave through a genuinely fun session.

Dry season in Bali usually brings bigger, more powerful swell and stronger wind, and Toro-Toro can get pushed around by conditions better suited to heavier reefs like Uluwatu or Airport Right. A quieter window like today is something of an opportunity — the size drops into Toro-Toro’s sweet spot, the wind lays off, and the wave gets to show off the long, playful character that makes it the surf camp’s favourite.

Intermediate Surf Lessons At Toro Toro ★★★★★

Toro-Toro turned on early today, though the wind filled in before sunrise had fully settled. Conditions stayed fun regardless — steep lefts offered up two or three solid turns apiece, while the rights kept running long for anyone who could make that first section. The crew traded waves steadily through the wind, keeping the stoke high all morning.

Toro-Toro remains the surf camp’s favourite wave for good reason. The reef sets up an easy takeoff with a deep channel on both sides for a quick paddle back, and even with some texture on the face today, the rights held their shape well down the line — proof this wave can still deliver when the wind isn’t cooperating.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Uluwatu ★★★★★

Fun morning at Uluwatu in the surfing paradise of Bali! The waves were shoulder-high range with occasional bigger sets rolling through. The session started beautifully clean with light offshore winds and fast, lined-up lefts. Andrea and Jerry surfed near the peak, finding smooth, tapered lefts perfect for cruising. Meanwhile, Randy and Nour positioned themselves right at the Racetrack in search of those long, winding rides with multiple turns and barrel sections that the racetrack is famous for.

Everyone snagged great waves and enjoyed the stellar lineup conditions. However, quick timing was absolutely essential today. The tide was moving fast, making it crucial to time your paddle-out perfectly before too much water flooded the shallow reef.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Black Stone ★★★★★

The wet season is out in full force today with heavy rain and erratic winds, but the Bali magic remains: it’s always offshore somewhere.

That “somewhere” today was Nusa Dua. Over at Blackstone, the conditions were surprisingly clean despite the gray skies. Waves were consistently shoulder-high on the sets, offering beautifully shaped lefts and rights. While the rights were the crowd favorite, one standout woman was absolutely ripping, putting on a clinic for everyone in the lineup.

Even on a soggy day, Bali delivers. Compared to most places, a “bad” day here is still a win.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Geger Left ★★★★★

What a morning at Geger Left! The ocean delivered beautifully lined-up lefts offering long, fast walls perfect for performance surfing—we’re talking high-speed top turns, deep bottom turns, and solid cracks off the lip. While the lefts were the main event, regular footers managed to snag some fun rights in the mix.

Despite a touch of side-shore wind, the waves held their shape impressively with clean faces throughout the session. The lineup vibe was completely relaxed, with everyone trading waves and soaking up the conditions. Just a classic, fun session for everyone involved.
