Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

With an incoming swell building, our advanced group headed for Uluwatu again this morning

Conditions continued the trend of sunny and glassy perfection as waves were breaking around head high to a couple of feet overhead with the occasional double-overhead set rolling through as the new swell increased in size

Tomorrow is expected to be bigger again so we’ll be adding some variety and heading to one of the local west-facing spots

Stay with us for two weeks or more and we’ll pay for your visa so check out our limited Christmas availability or get in contact for more information.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

It was a kind of average morning at Uluwatu today for the intermediate and advanced surfers and by average we mean head-high, glassy and uncrowded

The typical conditions here for the past few weeks have been excellent with very little sign of the incoming wet season and consistent waves of a great size for most surfers breaking every day

We’re expecting a new bump in swell to build throughout the day tomorrow for more of the same

Intermediate Surf Guiding at Balangan, Bali

This morning we headed down the road to Balangan on the west coast of the Bukit Peninsular where the waves were perfect for the intermediate surfers.

Breaking between knee and shoulder-high, there were mainly lefts as you’d expect from a reef-point break but the occasional few right-handers were sneaking through as well.

Tomorrow, we’re expecting the swell to be a similar size or slightly smaller so plenty of waves around for all abilities to enjoy.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

Our intermediate and advanced groups returned to Uluwatu for another early morning session today where they were greeted with beautiful weather, clean waves and relatively other surfers in the water.

Waves were breaking between chest high and a little overhead with a small tidal range serving up long consistent waves right down the length of the Uluwatu reef.

We’re expecting today’s bump in swell to increase throughout the day which should give us some bigger waves tomorrow and even more options for where to surf in the local area.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

The changeable weather made things a little tricky this morning as the southerly winds during the night resulted in our first-choice breaks being messy and bumpy for the dawn session.

A less than perfect surf is still always better than not surfing at all, so our intermediate and advanced guiding group made the best of the empty Uluwatu line up and caught a few waves before breakfast.

After the offshore breeze kicked in later in the morning, conditions progressively improved throughout the day and we ventured back for a second sunny and clean session at Uluwatu later in the afternoon to get our fill of waves for the day.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Impossibles, Bali

We headed to Impossibles for an early uncrowded session at dawn this morning which started with the whole break to ourselves.

The shoulder to head-high waves were as speedy as usual but with perfect sunny weather, it was a great way to start the day.

Tomorrow’s swell should be a little smaller so safe to venture out to the Bukit peninsular’s more exposed reefs again for more fun!

Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

Our advanced group headed to Uluwatu this morning where there was still a reasonable amount of swell left over from the previous day mixing with the building sets of a new incoming swell

This combination made for challenging conditions at times as waves were breaking between shoulder high and double-overhead with a few surfers on their big wave boards waiting for the larger sets that were hitting the reef wider at Outside Corner.

The swell will continue to build throughout the day and overnight which means we’ve got plenty of options for where to surf tomorrow

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

We returned to Uluwatu this morning where conditions were great for both intermediate and advanced surfers

Waves were mostly breaking between shoulder and head high, the sun was out, and the wind was light

Tomorrow we’re expecting another day of similar-sized swell which means that, once again, Uluwatu is likely to be serving up waves that are suitable for a large range of abilities from intermediate to advanced surfers

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

Our intermediate and advanced group had to be patient for the tide his morning but it was certainly worth the wait.

By late morning, when the was enough water on the reef, the wind remained light, the sun was out and some beautifully clean waves were breaking down all sections of the Uluwatu reef in the chest to head-high range.

We’re expecting wave size to drop slightly overnight before a new swell fills in to provide some bigger waves for the start of the new week.
