Balangan Surf Spot Info, Report and Forecast

Our beginner group headed to Balangan beach this morning for both of their sessions of surfing lessons where the sun was shining and the waves were absolutely perfect for learning to surf.

Wave height was in the beginner-friendly range of ankle to knee-heigh which is ideal for building confidence and working to build a consistent pop-up.

Our beginners and intermediates joined forces this morning to surf at Balangan — one of our local west-facing beaches.

Thanks to the light morning wind, everybody got to enjoy their lessons at what is typically a dry-season break and took advantage of the clean and uncrowded knee to waist-high waves that were coming through on the sets.

Even if the weather was a little gloomy this morning, there were smiles all round from our beginners as they headed to Balangan beach for their first session of group surfing lessons this morning.

The water was nice and quiet with other surfers and the learner-friendly knee-high waves were breaking cleanly.

After enjoying the early morning session, our surfers headed back to the surf camp for breakfast before their second session of the day at Padang Padang.

This morning our intermediate group headed to sunny Balangan for their first session of surf guiding. Although the waves were small, it was clean and the crowds were very thin making it possible for everyone to enjoy practicing their turns on the open faces.

Elsewhere at the surf camp our beginner group surfed at our local break of Padang Padang and both groups surfed their second sessions of the day at the same location.

It was a relatively late start for our beginner and intermediate group’s first session of the day today as they travelled to Balangan beach for group surf lessons and guiding.

The were party waves and smiles all around as our surfers worked on their popups and started making their first turns down the line in the late morning sun.

Waves were breaking in the knee to waist high range which is ideal for building confidence when you’re just getting started

This morning our beginner groups headed to Balangan beach for their group surfing  lessons.

Waves were typically coming through in the knee to chest-high range with a couple of larger sets, which the future big wave surfers among the group confidently took advantage of!

After a break between sessions, the groups stayed at Balangan for their second session of the day as it remained the ideal place to surf today based on the tide, wind and swell conditions.

After a couple of days out on the boat our beginner and intermediate groups got things started from dry land this morning with a trip to sunny Balangan beach for their first session of morning group surf lessons.

Waves were a little tricky — breaking quickly and not perfectly clean — but the group had lots of fun practising their popups and bottom turns.

Elsewhere at the surf camp our other beginners group surfed at Padang Padang for their two sessions, just a stone’s throw from the surf camp.

This morning our beginners’ group travelled to Balangan — one of our local beaches and one of the most beautiful on the Bukit peninsular — for their first session of surfing lessons.

Winds were light and the sky was clear as the sun rose over Bali with the waves breaking at a perfectly beginner-friendly knee to chest-high.

Having expert guides who can pick conditions like this makes all the difference and, as you can see from the gallery, our surfers enjoyed many great rides in uncrowded conditions.
