Beginner Surf Lessons at Baby Padang

This morning our highly experienced coach Koki took our beginners group to Baby Padang for a solid introduction to the art of surfing. After some instruction on theory and practice, the guys were soon getting themselves into position. With Koki’s help were soon catching green unbroken waves. They had an excellent fun time!  The condition were perfect for their first time in the water; excellent fun and the guys went away happy and tired, after their first surfing experience, but looking forward to joining us again to build upon their experience. Nothing compares to riding your first green waves.

Advanced Surf Guiding at Padang Padang

Swell is pumping here today and barrels galore at Padang Padang, the premium barreling wave, also known as the Balinese pipeline. Just 10 people out is incredible for this wave as normally packed with local and traveling surfers. Very very consistent waves today and more than enough barrels for everyone.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang, Bali

We headed to our local beach of Padang Padang this morning — less than 1km away — for the first beginner private surf lesson of the day

The conditions were perfect for learning to surf with waves breaking between knee and waist high, light winds and hardly anybody else in the lineup

Elsewhere the intermediate and advanced guiding group surfed at Uluwatu where conditions were perfect late into the morning with offshore wind and chest to head-high waves.

We’re delighted that certain visas are now being issued by the Indonesian government which must be applied for in advance. We’ll be ramping up operations for our soft re-opening on 1st November, so get in contact now for more information on how you can join us for an exclusive surfing experience

Surfing Royalty at Perfect Padang Padang

It wasn’t the biggest swell of the year, but Padang Padang was glassy and perfect this morning for the group of surfers which included none other than the Kelly Slater himself

The crowd was relatively small and the waves were absolutely pumping as huge green barrels thundered down the reef and into the channel which was packed with water photographers

There were a few wipeouts and a few dodgy drop-ins but, in general, an absolute barrel-riding display being put on by all

The swell should still be around tomorrow so check back again to find out what goes down during tomorrow morning’s session.

It’s never too early to start planning your next trip to Bali, so until we can welcome you back, we hope you’ll continue to check our regular surf reports, and for news on the situation here, you should follow our updates over on Facebook

XL Swell at Padang Padang

We took the camera to Padang Padang this morning to catch some of the bombs being ridden at the peak of the current swell

There was a small crowd in the water on bodyboards, surfboards and SUPs as waves in the overhead to well overhead range were pounding down the reef

The conditions weren’t quite perfect with the barrels often sectioning or pinching but everyone was giving their best efforts to make it to the channel unscathed

Big Saturday at Uluwatu and Padang Padang

On the afternoon of what some were calling ‘Big Saturday’, the ocean was putting on a show as Bali’s reefs took a pounding by the biggest swell of the year to date

The show started with some monster tow and paddle waves at Uluwatu’s Bombie and Outside Corner, and we finished on the cliffs overlooking Padang Padang

In the third and final phase of the easing of Bali’s lockdown, the island will officially open its borders again for oversea tourists on September 11th.

Padang Padang to Dreamland

With a solid swell hitting Bali today, we took a drive along the coast from Padang Padang to Dreamland to see what was going down at some of the most popular local breaks

Although the size of the swell didn’t disappoint, the wind wasn’t quite right which meant there were more turns than barrels at Bingin, a couple of big cleanup sets, and all the breaks were a little wild and unpredictable.

If and when the wind changes direction and straightens everything out later today, expect everywhere to be pumping!

Padang Padang Sundown Session

With Bali’s official reopening scheduled for July 9th and international routes starting to open up across the world, it’s time to start planning your next trip here!

We took the camera along with us this evening to one of our favourite local spots where the only thing better than the cocktails is the view.

With a very solid swell hitting Bali at the moment, the world-famous Padang Padang left-hander was throwing out some sizeable barrels which were being skillfully navigated by a crowd of around ten.

In the opposite direction, some chunky sets were rolling down the Impossibles reef in the ‘well overhead’ range with surfers enjoying some leg-achingly-long rides.

We’re too busy enjoying the uncrowded world-class waves for now so our regular daily surf report remains on hold but keep your eyes peeled for more regular updates soon.

Beginner Surfing Lessons at Padang Padang, Bali

This morning our beginner group headed to Padang Padang — our local beach, less than 1km down the road — for their semi-private surfing lesson.

The conditions weren’t as clean as they might have been due to the light onshore wind, but the waves on offer were still perfect for a first surf lesson; breaking at around knee-high and peeling softly to the beach.

With Bali as quiet as it currently is, if you can find a way to get yourself here, there’s never been a better time to learn to surf.
