Beginner and Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Padang Padang, Bali

For the second session of the camp’s group and private lessons this morning, our beginner and intermediate surfers headed down to our local break at Padang Padang.

Swell height was in the knee to chest range for this session with a couple of larger sets that arrived and, although the onshore wind wasn’t the lightest, it still allowed for clean surfing conditions.

The crowds weren’t as thin as they were for the early morning session but with expert tuition and wave selection from our highly experienced surf instructors, everybody managed plenty of rides and both groups were making some great progress.

Beginner and Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Balangan, Bali

Our beginner and intermediate groups headed to Balangan beach again this morning for their group and private surf lessons where the waves were breaking between waist and shoulder-high with a couple of occasional larger sets.

The crowds were thin and our students had the middle of the beach to themselves for much of the session, which meant there were plenty of waves to go around and the maximum potential for making improvements.

As you can see from today’s gallery, everybody caught lots of waves and had a great time in the Bali morning sun.

Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Balangan beach, Bali

Balangan’s palm-fringed beach was the location of choice for today’s intermediate lessons where waves were coming through between waist and shoulder-high.

Today’s guests — appreciating the value of even better instructor-to-student ratios — all opted for either private or semi-private lessons and it was apparent by the number of great rides they all got to enjoy.

After breakfast, our intermediates returned to Balangan for their second session while elsewhere at camp our advanced group surfed Uluwatu then Greenbowl and our beginners surfed at our local break of Padang Padang.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lessons and Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

Another day, another great surfing session. This morning both of our advanced and intermediate groups headed to Uluwatu for surf guiding and surf lessons. Swell is bigger and conditions are clean with light offshore wind.  The waves are shoulder high to head high or overhead high on sets.  Perfect opportunity for advanced group to practice different surf maneuvers. Our intermediate learners were trying to keep up with more experienced surfers and did their best during surf lessons.

Our beginners at the same time enjoyed their surf lessons at Toro Toro beach this morning. Very comfortable conditions for beginners surf lessons. Not so busy and waves are waist high to chest high. Seems like someone had really nice surf sessions this morning.

Beginner Surfing Lessons at Padang Padang, Bali

This morning, our beginner surfers headed the very short distance down the road to our local break of Padang Padang for their first session of group and private lessons.

Padang Padang is a great wave for learning to surf as the forgiving waves peel along the soft, seagrass-covered reef and into the channel where the waves don’t break — the perfect place to catch your breath before heading back out for your next wave.

This morning waves were breaking in the waist to chest-high range and everybody had loads of fun before heading to Dreamland after breakfast for their second session of the day.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lessons and Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

There were waves of varying sizes and shapes on offer this morning as our intermediate and advanced surfing groups headed the short distance to Uluwatu for their first surf sessions of the day.

The swell was a little slower coming through than it had been for the previous evening’s sunset session but conditions were clean and glassy and waves ranged from chest to overhead on the larger sets.

From our intermediates making some of their first turns down the line to our expert instructors like Blacky boosting enormous airs, everyone had a great morning of waves.

Beginner Surfing Lessons at Dreamland, Bali

This morning our beginners headed the short ride down the road to Dreamland beach for their group and private surfing lessons.

It was a beautiful sunny morning and after some initial instruction on the beach, everybody ventured out into the water to start their surfing journeys in Dreamland’s soft and friendly waves.

Elsewhere, our intermediate and advanced surfers started their day back at Greenbowl and everybody met up back at the camp to exchange tales of their morning surf adventures over their delicious breakfasts.

Intermediate Surf Lessons and Advanced Guiding at Temple, Bali

Our intermediate and advanced groups caught the boat at dawn this morning down to Temple at the end of the Uluwatu reef for their first surf session of the morning.

The intermediate group stayed at the north end of the reef where the waves were slightly softer and more forgiving and the advanced guiding group sat further up the reef where it was shallower and hollower.

After returning to camp for breakfast both groups surfed their second sessions of the day at Uluwatu.

Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Uluwatu

It was intermediate-friendly fun at Uluwatu again this morning as swell height was relatively small for the second day in a row.

Light onshore winds meant that the waves were still very clean and everyone was taking advantage of Uluwatu’s long peeling walls during their lessons.

Elsewhere, our advanced guiding group surfed at Gunung Payung where the more exposed break provided more challenging waves.
